After a fascinating 'Rookie' year on the Seniors Tour, 2009 brings different challenges. After cuts to the European Seniors Tour Schedule, this year will be hard to plan. Having finished tenth in the tour school, which would have been good enough last year to guarantee nearly all events, this year the amount of events to play in is unpredictable.
At the moment of writing this I have climbed high enough up the list to be
included in the field for the Son Gual Open. But knowing how many events I
will play in this season will involve a last minute check on the internet,
before either rushing to the airport for a last minute flight, or having a
week off. With that in mind, not only has it been important to practice golf, but essential to find another string to the bow. Teaching golf and writing about it has always been an important back up plan for my tournament play, and once again it has come to the fore. Over the last few weeks I have started to write for an online magazine called Suite101.com. Mostly the articles are about golf and how to play, but after learning the ropes I have written several article on different topics. You can access these, and all my articles for the magazine, by clicking on this link. But today it's golf that is at the front of my mind. My putting has been going well, I have practiced chipping hour after hour this winter, and my long game feels pretty solid. So it's fingers crossed for when I peg it up this year. Once again, if your nerves can handle it, check out 'live scoring' by clicking on the link on my Home Page. I hope your own golf is going well. John Hoskison. |
